Straighten Your Teeth Explore Our Braces and Aligners Solutions
What are the Braces and Aligners?
Braces are orthodontic appliances that slowly move teeth into their proper locations by using metal brackets and wires. For a more understated option, we now provide tooth-colored ceramic braces in addition to conventional metal braces. Braces are custom-fitted and routinely adjusted following an extensive consultation and inspection to guarantee that teeth alignment proceeds without problems. Braces successfully address bite problems, crowded teeth, gaps in teeth, and crooked teeth, enhancing oral health and beauty.
Clear aligners, a detachable substitute for braces, consist of transparent plastic trays that gradually realign teeth. Our clinic offers a variety of aligner systems, including Invisalign, which is intended to be comfortable to wear and virtually invisible. Based on digital impressions of your teeth, aligners are created to order. Every pair of aligners remain on for roughly two weeks, and as your teeth move, you swap them out. Aligners are aesthetically beautiful, provide little disturbance to daily activities, and may be taken out for eating and brushing.
Removable vs. Fixed Appliances
Fixed Appliances
Depending on the severity of the tooth issue, orthodontic treatments may require the use of fixed or removable equipment. The best course of action for you will be suggested by the orthodontist.
Brace: A popular fixed appliance used to straighten teeth is a brace. They consist of brackets, wires, and bands. To secure the braces in place, the bands are set around your teeth. Your teeth are fitted with brackets, and the brackets and bands are connected by arch wires. Pressure is applied to the teeth while the arch wires are gradually tightened, which moves the teeth closer to the target position. Braces are often worn for a few months to a few years and require regular adjustments.
Special fixed devices: To help control habits like tongue thrusting and thumb sucking, special fixed appliances should only be examined in serious situations. But because they are linked to the teeth, they could be uncomfortable to eat with.
Fixed space maintainers: Young children may have early tooth loss in certain situations. An orthodontist may advise utilizing a fixed space maintainer in this situation. This device helps in maintaining the gap until the permanent tooth erupts.
Removable
Aligners: Adults are increasingly choosing clear aligners over traditional braces as an option. They are almost invisible and do not require metal wires or brackets, yet they move teeth in the same way. You will need to take out your clear aligners for eating, brushing, and flossing.
Removable space maintainers: These appliances serve the same function as space maintainers that are fixed. They are made out of an acrylic base that fits over the jaw and branches made of wire or plastic. To preserve the space between teeth, they are placed into those spaces.
Jaw repositioning appliances: Splints are the name for these appliances, which are applied to either the upper or lower jaw. By teaching the jaw to close more properly, they are used to treat TMJ issues.
Removable retainers : To stop the teeth from moving back to their original positions, these appliances, known as retainers, are placed behind the teeth or on the roof of the mouth.
Headgear: Headgear is mostly used on young kids to guide the front teeth into normal alignment, retain the back teeth in place, and control the growth of the upper jaw.
Types Of Braces
Traditional Metal Braces
These are the most popular kind of braces, built from premium stainless steel. Each tooth has a metal bracket bonded to its front.
Metal Braces
Like metal braces, but composed of tooth-blending ceramic materials, less noticeable than metal braces because of the transparent or tooth-colored brackets.
Lingual Braces
The inside surface of teeth, facing the tongue, is where brackets and wires are inserted. Almost undetectable from the outside, offering a practically invisible solution.
Clear Aligners
Transparent, removable trays made of smooth plastic specially designed to gently realign teeth without the need of wires or brackets and they are comfortable.
Invisalign
Instead of using wires and brackets to straighten teeth, Invisalign uses clear, personalized, and removable devices called aligners. Since the aligners are almost invisible, very few people will notice that you are wearing them.
Orthodontic science, which has been practiced for more than a century, is combined with the latest 3-D computer graphics technology in the treatment procedure. Throughout the course of the treatment plan, each aligner is carefully adjusted and made to fit your mouth, gradually shifting your teeth toward the final position that the dentist prescribed.
You should come into our dental clinic to find out if Invisalign is correct for you. In order to provide Invisalign with exact treatment instructions, we will take impressions and a few pictures. Then, Invisalign will evaluate and convert these instructions into a set of perfectly adjusted aligners—as many as 48—using the latest computer technology.
You will be able to look at and evaluate a 3D model of the course of treatment and its results prior to making your order for the aligners. For approximately two weeks, each aligner should be used; it should only be taken out to eat, brush, and floss. Your teeth will progressively move toward the final alignment indicated as you shift out each aligner for the next week.
